However, small transactions between managers and employees are not enough to maximize engagement.

Research Insights

A productive workplace is one in which people feel safe – safe enough to experiment, to challenge, to share information, and to support one another. I interviewed employees and 4 managers of panels and startup companies. After the research, I discovered three main insights that would lead the final ideation.

Usability Testing

After several rounds of interviews, I started the prototyping process by figuring out as many probabilities as possible. Next, I proceeded to the hi-fi prototype testing to see whether it meets users’ needs in the best possible way. I created tasks for users to check employee details on the dashboard and search for the right people from internal referrals. Based on the results of user-testing, I discovered key findings and improved designs make my product more user-friendly.

Iterations

Based on surveys conducted on both team member details and the hiring process, users can now quickly access their employees’ messages on the sort and filter bar. Second, since users requested a scroll bar on their task list, we added one. In addition, users preferred to access project progress rather than employee work history, so we simplified that. In terms of hiring, we eliminated the filter bar to save space, allowing the hiring manager to focus better on one candidate at a time. Based on this invaluable feedback, it is now easier for managers to learn about employees as well as find the best-suited candidate in real time.
